Samsung Galaxy S5 at The Unpacked 5 Event: What To Expect

Get ready, because the official unveiling of the Samsung Galaxy S5 is just a few weeks away!

In case you haven’t heard, Samsung’s upcoming flagship smarthpone, the Galaxy S5, will be launched the company’s Unpacked 5 event on February 24th in Barcelona, Spain (yes, this February). Several journalists and publication agencies have reinforced this rumor, but the real evidence suggesting an imminent Galaxy S5 release comes from Samsung’s own invitations they sent out for the Unpacked 5 event (see invitation below).

And some of you may remember when, and how, Samsung unveiled the Galaxy S5 — also at the Unpacked event. Samsung hasn’t officially stated whether or not they plan to unveil the Galaxy S5 at the Unpacked 5 event, but it’s pretty much the only likely scenario. After all, the Unpacked “Five” event would offer the perfect stage for Samsung to display the Galaxy S “Five.”

Galaxy S5 Hardware Specs

Assuming Samsung unveils the Galaxy S5 at the Unpacked 5 event, we’ll finally get a chance to see the official hardware specs of this next-gen smartphone. There’s been numerous leaked reports and details regarding the Galaxy S5’s hardware, but none of which have been confirmed by Samsung officials. Since the Unpacked 5 event is designed to boost initial sales for the company, you can expect organizers to talk about the hardware specifications of the Galaxy S5 and how it ranks when compared to other smartphones on the market.

Galaxy S5 Software

The Unpacked 5 event will also give Samsung a chance to unveil the interface and software behind the Galaxy S5. The only real details we’ve heard regarding the Galaxy S5’s software was a leaked photo of the home screen. This photo appears to show a flat, tiled interface on the Galaxy S5. I guess we’ll finally get an official word on the Galaxy S5’s interface once February 24th rolls around!

New Galaxy Gear Smartwatch

The Galaxy S5 isn’t the only device Samsung plans to unveil at the Unpacked 5 event. There’s strong evidence suggesting the company will also release the second-generation Galaxy Gear smartwatch, which would be the perfect accessory to compliment a new Galaxy S5 device. Samsung experienced some hurdles with the first-generation Galaxy Gear, but they’ve likely made some major improvements to the second generation.
